2021 Fourth Quarter Newsletter
October:
October 5th, Nathan Neal with Cozy Kitchens Group hosted the Pre-Parade Reception at Cozy Kitchen’s. Everyone had a great time.
October 7th-10th the 2nd Virtual Parade of Homes was held. Thank you to all the Builders who entered, the Sponsors & all those that helped to make the Parade successful with advertising in the Magazine. From October 7th thru January 2nd, there have been 5,614 visitors to the 2021 Parade Homes entered.
November:
November 3rd the Fall Golf Tournament was held at Sea Scape Golf Links. Thank you to all the teams and sponsors and everyone that provided prizes. Once again, a big thank you to OBX Chevrolet-Buick, who sponsored the hole in one. Bob and Marc would sure like to give a car away, but Bob drove it back to the lot. Thank you to David Whitehurst and the Golf Committee for doing another great job in putting this tournament together.
November 12th the OBHBA had an Oyster Roast & Low Country Boil along with a small Membership Meeting. Thank you, Nathan Neal, for hosting this event at Cozy Kitchens. Thank you to all who helped to prepare and to Charity Cooke with Atlantic Appraisal Services Inc. for donating the shrimp.
November 30th was the end of the OBHBA Membership Drive. The drive was from September 1st thru November 30th. During those three months, the OBHBA had 28 new members to join the Association.
December:
December 10th the OBHBA held is Annual Christmas Party for the first time since 2019. The event was held at Captain George’s. After dinner, the Board of Directors upheld their membership drive challenge and donned their competitor’s attire. It was really a fun evening.
December 14th NCHBA held their 4th Quarter Meeting at Pinehurst NC. During the event, Dave Stormont was inducted into the NC Home Builders Housing Hall of Fame, and the 2020 NCHBA President, Mark Martin finished up 6 years of service with the NCHBA. It was a wonderful time, and I encourage anyone who can go in 2022 to please attend.
